The proscribed RPF has called upon the people of Manipur to make the land self-reliant in food.
A press release issued by the outfit's publicity secretary T Leisemba remarked that the ancestors of Manipuri people were hard-working, laborious and diligent.
They had a strong sense of community belongingness and mutual cooperation.
They had a healthy work culture and were determined to be independent economically as far as possible.
For their hard labour, they did not have any shortage of food all year round.
It was another matter if there was flood or drought.
Addressing the present generation of Manipur, outfit called upon to the people to turn their attention to the fields.
Appealing to the people to work hard in order to produce abundant crops and vegetables, the outfit said our kitchens should be kept beyond the control of outsiders.
"A hungry nation is striding towards downfall.
Food shortage would also cause serious impacts to our brave sporting culture and proud traditional culture", it forewarned.
Specifically exhorting the youngsters to put their labour in fields instead of wasting time in leisure, the outfit said that the fruits of labour may be reaped in the form plentiful crops and other agricultural produces.
"Make the whole of Manipur green with crops, vegetables and fruits", the outfit called out.
