Opposition, MPP and BJP have separately decided not to take hasty decision to field their candidates in the ensuing bye-election to the 14-Yaiskul Assembly Constituency which has been scheduled on December 19. President of MPP Dr Nimaichand Luwang said that the party will not take any hasty decision in fielding candidate in the bye-election.
BJP president, H Borababu also gave the same opinion like that of Nimaichand with regard to fielding its candidate.
MPP held a meeting to discuss on the matter of sending out its candidate in the bye-election.
But taking a decision on the matter was differed for sometime when advisors of the party shared their opinions not to take any hasty decision.
The party considered that there is no merit or demerit for the party in the bye-election but the party took the election seriously considering the protests in the wake of July 23 Khwairamband Bazar shooting incident, Dr Nimaichand observed.
MPP Legislature wing leader O Joy said, the party is well aware of the fall to be in the bye-election.
That was why party decided to take some more time in choosing its candidate.
BJP president, H Borbabu observed of having a hidden agenda of Congress in fixing the scheduled of the bye-election so hurriedly.
BJP has been observing deeply into the matter behind the bye-election.
A meeting of party was held today from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The Yaiskul Mandal of the party is yet to recommend any person as candidature in the bye-election.
Taking into account Yaiskul Kendra as vote bank of former chief minister, RK Dorendro, his candidature will be considered once again.
The part could not take an decision on fielding the former chief minister as he is still unwilling to contest the election as the party could not keep aside the sentiment of the people in the wake of July 23 incident.
The party considered the schedule of the bye-election being fixed in order to divert the people's mind from the July 23 incident.
As such party has decided to discuss thoroughly while fielding its candidate.
