Tribal Research Institute invites online application for GOAL programme

The Tribal Research Institute, Manipur has invited online applications for the GOAL programme.
GOAL or Going Online As Leaders is a joint social transformation initiative of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India and Facebook.
It is a digital literacy and mentorship programme to empower youth from tribal communities across India by providing mentorship on digital literacy, life skills, leadership and entrepreneurship, industry specific skills, etc.
Key features of GOAL programme includes smartphone and internet access for 1 year for 5000 shortlisted mentees, 20,000 plus hours of guidance for 7 months followed by 2 months internship at reputed private company or Government office, certificates from Ministry of Tribal Affairs and Facebook, priority access to State level/National events organised by Ministry of Tribal Affairs or Facebook, opportunity to interact with peer group, industry leaders, political leaders etc.
The 'Mentors' can be educators, industry leaders, experts in field of business, education, health, politics, NGOs, arts and entrepreneurship while 'Mentees' shall be tribal youth in the State (18-35 yrs of age) with scanned copy of ST certificate, age proof certificate and ID with DoB mandatory.
Interested candidates may visit the portal at goal.tribal.gov.in and apply as 'MENTEE' or 'MENTOR' or visit nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) .
Last date of submission of application is July 31, 2020 .
