COVID-19 positive cases grow by 20 to take tally to 1911

Imphal, July 19 2020:
Whereas the State's total COVID-19 cases grew by 20 during the last 24 hours, a woman resident of Imphal East district who is said to have contacted the Pradhan of Thoubal Moijing has been tested positive for the contagion.
Altogether 10 people of Thoubal were found positive for COVID-19 after they were subjected to rapid antigen test today.
After the Pradhan of Thoubal Moijing was tested positive for the highly contagious virus, a woman resident of Imphal East district who is said to have contacted the Pradhan has also been tested positive, sources informed.

The woman's husband is a police personnel posted in Imphal West district.
The positive woman has her residence at Mantripukhri and the area has been notified as a containment zone by the Imphal East district administration.
Meanwhile, a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that 20 people were tested positive during the last 24 hours.
11 of them were tested positive at RIMS, four at JNIMS, three at Tamenglong district hospital, one at Thoubal district hospital and one by a mobile team of Imphal East district.
Nine of them belong to Imphal West, three to Tamenglong, two each to Thoubal, Senapati and Imphal East, and one each to Bishnupur and Ukhrul.
Of the two individuals belonging to Thoubal district, one has no travel history.
The recovery rate so far is 64.62 per cent after taking into account 53 persons who have recovered from the contagion during the past 24 hours.
All of them have been discharged.
14 of them were treated at CCC Meitram, eight at RD Wing Lamphelpat, eight at CCC Churachandpur, two at CCC Thoubal, 12 at CCC Kakching and nine at JNIMS.
The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the State as of Sunday is 1911 and these include 676 active cases and 1235 recovered cases.
Meanwhile, COVID-19 infection rate in Jiribam is declining.
No positive case was detected among all the samples tested yesterday.
No sample was tested today.
Till date, there are 77 COVID-19 confirmed cases including 50 active cases in Jiribam district.
