Ukhrul district hospital to re-open for regular services

The Ukhrul District Hospital will be re-opened to resume providing regular health services in the district from July 20 onwards.
According to the report of Dr Reisangmi, Medical Superintendent, the district hospital had been shut down indefinitely due to the continued handling and management of COVID-19 cases in the District Hospital since early part of the year.
Authority of the Ukhrul District Hospital have now decided to re-open and resume providing of all other normal health services by the hospital wef from July 20 (Monday) in the interest of the general public and demand for health services.
However, the district hospital will now stop admitting any COVID cases, either asymptomatic or symptomatic patients and henceforth, the roles and responsibilities of treating Covid patients will be done in TK Woodland Covid Care Centre, Shirui Ukhrul.
The centre is a 100 bedded centre reserved for the exclusive treatment of Covid-19 positive cases detected in Ukhrul district.
Dr Reisangmi further informed that in order to sanitize the entire building blocks, rooms and surrounding premises, two days of fumigation has already been done in the hospital, for the safety of everyone and also to re-set up the entire infrastructure and put into order for smooth functioning.
