AMMIK against uploading music to Youtube sans approval ; Steps taken against use of obscene words

Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup (AMMIK) has warned against uploading any kind of music videos on Youtube and social networking sites like Facebook without prior approval and preview by the association.
Speaking to media persons at AMMIK's office at Yaiskul Janmasthan, general secretary M Dhananjoy Singh said, "AMMIK held a meeting with the artistes, singers and musicians on April 2, to discuss the issue of uploading music video album through Youtube and social media" .
He pointed out that the Association has decided to take up necessary steps to curb the use of unsuitable and obscene words and lyrics, imitation and plagiarism etc which are becoming quite prevalent.
He said that AMMIK would not allow any music video which is not preview or approved by the association, to be uploaded to Youtube or social media adding that the association would take necessary action against any individual or organisation which upload any songs or music videos which have been previewed but not yet approved.
"AMMIK would also take up necessary legal action against individuals or organisations which upload songs and music videos without permission from the producers," he added.
Speaking at the meet, AMMIK president, Sagolsem Tijendra said, "We, Manipuris, are a very small population.
AMMIK has taken up these measures to protect our tradition" .
