High Court seeks N Ajay's case record

The High Court of Manipur has directed Session Court to submit case record of murder convict N Ajay.
High Court of Manipur Assistant Registrar M Basanta Kumar Sharma sent an official notice to Session Court, Imphal West for transfer of case records of Nongthombam Ajay before April 18 .
The notification dated March 28, 2017 was received by Session Court, Imphal West yesterday and it enclosed the order dated March 24, 2017 passed in Cril Jail Appeal number 1 of 2017 by the Chief Justice, High Court of Manipur.
The notification asked the Court to transmit the case record of session trial case number 3 of 2015/ 50 2013/55 of 2013 Nongthombam Ajay versus CBI and its associated records to the Registrar on or before April 18 .
On March 24, High Court Chief Justice Rakesh Ranjan Prasad admitted an application filed by the counsel of N Ajay against the conviction order passed by Session Court, Imphal West on January 30 .
The appeal (number 1 of 2017) was filed by N Ajay through his counsel A Rupachandra for the appellant against CBI.
CBI counsel K Pradeep accepted the notice on behalf of CBI.
The application was filed soon after N Ajay was convicted by Session Court, Imphal West on January 30 to five years imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 10 lakh under Section 304 and 27 of the Arms Act.
It may be mentioned that N Ajay was convicted in connection with the death of Irom Roger during Holi festival in front of KT Girls hostel, Ghari.
