Imphal, April 06 2017:
All projects/programmes implemented in the State under MGNREGS would be geo-tagged and if geo-tagging is not done, no further funds would be released.
So far, 40,000 number of works have been implemented under MGNREGS in the State and the process of geo-tagging has been initiated for 7000 of these works, informed an official source.
Geo-tagging would enable the relevant Ministry to make direct assessment of the MGNREGS works through satellite.
Informing that the process of geo-tagging would be completed by the next month, the official source informed that the State received Rs 350 crore for MGNREGS during the last fiscal year.
The new initiative of geo-tagging would also be applied to rural housing schemes, and if any beneficiary is found having pucca house, he/she would not be entitled to receive any benefit.
