PFA Manipur : Animal rescue continues

Imphal, October 16 2014:
The 13th Assam Rifles in Tamenglong handed over a Great Barbet (a kind of bird) which was found reared at a remote village of the district to PFA Manipur yesterday.
According to a release of PFA Manipur, the bird it is now at the PFA shelter for rehabilitation and will be relocated soon.
In another incident, a little girl Yengkhom Rajkumari Chanu of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai handed over one Malayan Box turtle which was found near a drain of her house.

Meanwhile, a Checkered Keelback ( a kind of snake) was rescued from Thoudam Maning Leikai of Thoubal.
One Thoudam Manglemba Meitei, ward member Leisangthem GP CD block Thoubal rescued the snake from a fishing net set in a paddy field.
He handed over the snake to PFA.
Now the snake is under treatment at PFA.
One fruit bat was presented by Minaranjan Aranbam from Yairipok Poireikhongjin, publicity secretary of AMSU Thoubal District to PFA Manipur.
He had saved the bat from some poachers.
The bat was severely injured on its head and it succumbed to its injury yesterday.
