Fisherwoman brutally assaulted

Imphal, October 16 2014:
A woman, who went out for fishing on October 12 night at Thoubal Canal, was found seriously injured in an unconscious state.
The injured woman has been identified as Yambem Mangi (60), wife of Yambem Shamu of Thoubal Canal.
According to family members, Mangi went out for fishing at a nearby canal on October 12 while she was still cooking dinner.
When she did not return home for long, her husband went out to see her at the fishing spot.
However, he found only her sandals and torchlight,but did not find her at the spot.
Then, he alerted other family members and searched her at every possible location.
Later, Mangi was found lying unconscious in a pool of blood at a place just 70/80 feet from her house.
She sustained severe wounds on her head and eyes.
The family members along with the locals admitted her to RIMS Hospital, but she is still in a critical condition.
Meanwhile, Mangi's husband Shamu has filed a complaint to Thoubal Police Station in connection with the physical assault.
