Tamenglong mega trade fair attracts local people

Tamenglong, October 16 2014:
The 1st Mega trade fair which was opened by Lakshmikanta Sharma, Additional Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong on 2nd October 2014 at the newly constructed Indoor Stadium Tamenglong District HQs has attracted many local people.
The mega trade fair which will go till October 19, is profitable to both the local people and businessmen.
Talking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Thomas Chawang, Convener of Kevi Society Kohima disclosed that the business is going on well.
Md Rafik who mans a Mumbai foot wear stall is able to sell 40 to 50 pieces of footwear a day.
As compared to Mumbai, he is not getting much profit as the size of the population is very small.
Another one Ms Neitho of Kohima who sells Bangkok ladies collection said that she used to sell 200- 300 items from her stall per day.
She is quite happy in selling her items here.
A local woman buyer who does not want to expose her name told the Hueiyen Lanpao at the mega trade fair said that the items available in the fair are quite good.
"The items found here seem original, though the price is quite higher than in market.
This quality did not find in the market.
I have spent more than Rs.one thousand today, I will continue my shopping...", she said.
The mega trade fair was organised by Kevi Society Kohima with an aim to promote the trades and encourage the entrepreneur to take up trade as business in Tamenglong region.
As many as 20 stalls, coming from different states like Assam, Nagaland, Punjab, Delhi, etc with Bangladesh Melamine, toys, gift items, kitchen kits, health fitness products, unbreakable plastics items, Bangkok ladies footwear, Hydrabad pearls, herbal medicines, etc.
The mega trade fair will continue till
15 October 2014 .
He also appealed to the people of the district to avail opportunity where the items may not find in the market.
Thomas Chawang, Convener also informed that the same trade fair is going to be held at Longmai (Noney) starting from 25 October.
He said that the on-going football tournament at Mini Stadium and Badminton tournament help them to give information and visit their shops, he added.
