Govt lifts day curfew

Imphal, August 07 2021:
Subsequent to the state cabinet's decision to lift curfew, which was imposed to control Covid-19 situation in the state, chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar has issued an official notification stating that night curfew will remain in force from 6 pm till 5 am for 15 days.
Dr Rajesh Kumar, who is also State Executive Committee chairman, declared that the decision to discontinue the curfew and adopt micro containment zone approach was taken in consideration of the need to maintain balance with livelihood and economic activities, in line with Central government's advisories.
Gram Panchayats, village authorities, local clubs, etc., will be fully involved by deputy commissioners in ensuring strict micro containment zones and isolation of fresh positive cases.
The public have also been advised to adopt Covid Appropriate Behaviour to fully control Covid-19 in the state.
As per the notification, shops and commercial establishments dealing in wholesale'will be allowed to operate on roster system on all days while local vegetable vendors will be permitted to sale their wares from 7 am to 10 am on Sunday, Wednesday and Friday.
