ICOP programme held at Chandel village

Imphal, November 28 2021:
Chandel office of Field Outreach Bureau under Ministry of I & B organised an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (iCOPs) on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Monsang Pantha village community hall in Chandel district on Sunday.
A press release issued by Chandel FOB Mathew SK Bengam FPA informed that the outreach programme was attended by SDC (Chandel) Mothil Saka, Monsang chief/chairman Ng Vincent, Chandel food safety officer Dr Willson and MPYCC president Ng Salim as chief guest, president, resource person and moderator respectively.
The programme commenced with an invocation prayer by Ng Johnson (diploma catechist).
In his address, Mothil Saka stressed on the importance of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav from the cultural context, highlighted initiatives of the central government through ministry of culture and urged the people to identify historical forests, lakes, monuments, etc., and report to the government for its survey.
Resource person Dr Willson recounted on how the Europeans came and started settling in India through the British East India Company.
He also highlighted about India's freedom struggle from 1857 to 1947 and the role of several freedom fighters from Manipur in the freedom struggle.
The programme was also participated by M/S Achouba Artist Association Singjamei Chingamakha while a quiz competition was held and prizes distributed to the winners.
Masks and sanitisers were also handed out to the public.
