MU hosts online national seminar on Yogic Science

As part of a two-day national seminar on Yogic Science 2021 organised by the Department of Yoga, Manipur University, a series of webinar was conducted under the aegis of head of department Dr Maibam Nodiyachand Singh, who is also NSS Cell coordinator of Manipur University.
During the first session of the webinar held on Thursday, head of Sant Hiradaram Medical College Naturopathy & Yogic Science for Women Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) Prof Pradeep, while giving a presentation on 'Evidence Based Yoga Therapy', said Yoga course should include therapy based Yoga for the beneficial for the masses while the second session had retired college librarian and Sankrit Acharya (gold medallist) Sri K Brajamani Sharma expounding on 'Gita: A Personnel Guide'.
He also said that purpose of the webinar was to share the message about the beauty of Gita to human kind.
On the second day of the national seminar, professor of S-VYASA University Bengaluru, Karnataka prof TM Srinivasan spoke on the topic 'Science of Yoga' and stated that yoga is pure science and involves human consciousness.
Another person of the discourse, National Sports University (academics) Manipur Prof R Subramaniam delivered a lecture on 'Yoga and Mental Health'.
He stressed that Yoga department should have research work to get deep knowledge of yoga so as to help the practitioners cultivate appropriate attitude towards life.
A total of 189 persons including academicians in yogic science, Yogic Science students, yoga lovers and other faculties, NSS programme officers, volunteers all over the country participated in the webinar, informed a release.
