Fourth wave Covid death toll reaches 18

Imphal, August 07 2022:
Covid 19 claimed two more lives and infected 20 people on Sunday as the death toll reached 18 since the beginning of the fourth wave.
The two deceased were from Imphal West and Senapati districts and both had co-morbidities and taken 2nd dose of the vaccine.
Out of 20 new cases (9 males & 11 females), six each are from Imphal East and Imphal West, two each from Thoubal and Kangpokpi and one each from Bishnupur, Kakching, Senapati and Churachandpur districts.
In all 39 people were dis charged on Sunday from home isolation (37) and one each from RIMS and JN1MS while the number of active cases in the state now stands at 255 .
Out of the total of 38 Covid beds in JNIMS 27 are vacant while 41 out of 62 Covid beds in RIMS are occupied.
So far, the state has recorded 2103 positive cases and 18 deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic with the current month accounting for 274 new positive cases and nine fatalities.
As on Saturday, 2,849 vaccine doses were administered taking the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 31,32,532, out of which, 16,21,980 had the first dose, 12,92,315 second dose and 2,18,237 received the precautionary doses.
