AHPI NE receives Best Chapter Award 2020-21

AHPI North East India Chapter-II, which consists of private healthcare establishments from Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh, received the AHPI Best Chapter Award 2020-21.The award was received by AHPI NE president Dr Kh Palin and secretary Dr James Elangbam at Hotel Crown Plaza, Gurgaon (NCR) on Friday in the presence of AHPI director general Dr Giridhar Gyani, president Dr Alexander Thomas and chief functionaries from Quality Control of India (QCI) and National Board of Examinations (NBE).
According to an AHPI NE statement, Association of Healthcare Providers (India) is a non-profit organisation representing majority of the healthcare providers in India.
AHPI Manipur Chapter started with 28 member organisations on June 1, 2020 but has now increased to 32.It has been taking proactive role creating awareness on Covid-19 pandemic, testing, management and vaccination in the state since its inception.
It collaborated with the People's Task Force for Covid-19, Indian Red Cross Society and IMA-MSB in conducting over 200 Covid-19 awareness camps at different parts in the two Imphal districts and beyond from August 2020 onwards.
AHPL NE Chapter-II also took a major role in the management of Covid-19 (General and ICU beds included) in Manipur right from the first wave of the pandemic till now.
It signed an MoU with SODEXO (a medical technology management group) in the first quarter of 2021, which became functional in the second quarter.
All medical devices of affiliated members of AHPI NE-1 chapter in Manipur can now be maintained and repaired on-site by SODEXO making the functioning of private healthcare establishments' smoother and hassle free, the release explained.
It further informed that as a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), AHPI NE chapter conducted a two-day free Covid-19 vaccination camp at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen on July 24 & 25 in collaboration with National Health Mission Manipur, Manipur State Shumang Leela Council, Film Forum of Manipur, Theatre Centre Manipur, Apunba Manipur Matam Ishei Kanglup and All Manipur Artiste Relief Committee wherein 688 people were vaccinated with Covishield.
AHPI believes in creating a positive change in the healthcare sector by bringing Quality Care which is affordable while continuing to upgrade itself in Human resources, medical technology and infrastructure).
Strong collaboration and advocacy with the government and all the stakeholders in healthcare can help change the healthcare scenario of the state in the coming future, it added.
