Ukhrul sees drop in daily positivity rate

Ukhrul, June 02 2021:
Ukhrul district has witnessed a drop in daily positive cases since June 1 .
As per data from the district surveillance office, only three positive cases were detected at UDH Screening Centre on Wednesday.
On June 1, a total of five cases were found, which showed a steep decline from 21 cases recorded the previous day.
The district has so far logged 15 fatalities due to the virulent infection, with the latest victim being Jeremiah Shangh of Sirarakhong village, who died of post-Covid complications on May 31 .
Total number of active cases now stands at 94, after nine patients were discharged on Wednesday, it informed.
Among the current patients, 64 are being lodged at Transit Camp CCC, 21 at UDH Isolation Ward, three each at Tongou CIC and Shangkai CIC, two at Jessami CIC and one at Maichon CIC.
Meanwhile, the Covid Testing Centre at District Hospital will be shifted to ADC building at Hamleikhong from June 3 onwards in view of the construction works which will begin from the day, an official source said.
