Court grants bail, remands 2

Imphal, July 09 2021:
Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West today granted bail to 29-year-old Thongam Bikramjit who was arrested on July 3 last by Singjamei police.
Thongam Bikramjit, s/o Leibakchao of Khekman Makha Leikai along with two other individuals Pebam Bishambhor (53) of New Keithelmanbi Moidangpok Khullen and Wahengbam Inao 48, s/o (L) Balahari of Bamon Kampu were arrested by Singjamei Police on July 3 last after their names were revealed by the CSO leaders Sanasam Ibohanbi of Singjamei Okram Leikai, Nongthongbam Bimol of Khurai Chingangbam Leikai and Yengkhom Dhiren of Moirangkampu who were arrested on the charge of having nexus with an underground outfit.
The accused Bikramjit, Pebam Bishambhor and Wahengbam Inao were produced before the Court after the completion of their six days police custody remand along with the prayer for judicial custody remand.
The defence counsel of the accused, on the other hand, filed a remand objection along with a prayer for bail.
The IO of the case through APP submitted that from the investigation made so far it is evident that the accused are active members of a banned underground outfit who help in mobilizing the illegal fund of the outfit.

defence counsels and on perusal of the case record and other material produced ordered to release Bikramjit on bail with a PR bond of Rs 70 thousand and surety of same amount and on the condition that he cooperate with the IO of the case during investigation.
The Court on the other hand remanded Pebam Bishambhor and Wahengbam Inao to judicial custody till July 23 .
