Imphal, December 25 2021: As elsewhere in the country, BJP Manipur Pradesh observed Good Governance Day to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, at the Thambal Shanglen of BJP on Saturday.

After offering floral tributes to the portrait of the former PM, BJP Manipur in-charge Sambit Patra commented on the presence of many intending BJP candidates in every assembly constituency of the state as asign of people's trust on the party.

He then said that a true BJP candidate is the one who is selfless and ready to work for the betterment of the state.

Sambit then urged the people to help the BJP government return to power in the 2022 polls and ensure the light that was brought by BJP since 2017, continues to shine in the state, which was once shrouded in darkness and misery.

In his speech, CM N Biren said that former BJP leader Atal Bihari Vajpayee hoped for the party leaders to be self-less, which most of them happened to be.

When Manipur was burning, Atal Bihari Vajpayee displayed extraordinary leadership.

The former PM was a leader who was closed to the grassroots and it is because of his leadership that the present government is how able to provide all of its development reports to the people.

The CM then urged for concerned efforts under the mindset of "Nation first, party second and self last", while urging the youth to participate in the upcoming elections actively.

Addressing the gathering, Manipur Election in-charge and union minister Bhupendra Yadav said that after India attained independence, she suffered immensely under the Congress rule, as was proven by the declaration of emergency in the 70s.Meanwhile, BJP Manipur Pradesh A Sharda stated that the current leaders of BJP are following in the footsteps of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

She then urged all concerned to follow the vision of the former PM to respect all communities and help bring about a better Manipur.
