Imphal, August 12 2021:
With the arrival of 17th raising day of outfit's armed wing Miyamgi Fingang Lanmi (MFL) which falls on August 13 coinciding with Patriots' Day, the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) has extended greetings to revolutionaries of Manipur (Kangleipak) and WESEA region and to the people as well.
On the occasion, Millitary Affairs Committee (MAC) of the outfit conveyed gratitude to frontline Covid fighters like doctors, nurses, health workers and volunteers, CSOs and media who are rendering their invaluable service day and night to contain the pandemic and extended revolutionary greetings to them as well.
The outfit, however, said that this year's MFL anniversary event will be held in subdued manner in view of the raging second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Taking advantage of the occasion, MAC of the outfit placed its point of view on the suffering being faced by society during this pandemic.
According to the MAC, COVID-19 pandemic is yet to be contained by human beings and it has taken scores of precious lives throughout the globe and the number of people suffering from the disease and fatality keeps on increasing in Kangleipak.
When looked closely, the pandemic has not only clearly exposed the difference between the rich and poor sections of the society but also social inequality.
The main reason behind the inability to tackle the pandemic effectively in Kangleipak is the difference in the level of economy which serves as backbone of the society and the existing system of economy, the MAC statement said, adding that vivid examples in this regard are being emerged one after another.
Inability of government hospitals in Manipur to show distinction in rendering service to the people and the belief being created among the people that private hospitals provide better health care service indeed is public-private conspiracy and this conspiracy gives business of private hospital more profit.
This is the main reason why poor people succumb to COVID-19 as they could not afford costly health care service and there had been scores of examples in this regard, the MAC said, adding that health care service must be for everyone and fundamental right of every human and hence government must give special attention to it.
Had the government acknowledged that health care service is fundamental right of every citizen, dispensa ries of the state might not have been converted into cowshed and there would not have much difficulty in tackling COVID-19 had dispensaries in localities functioned properly.
On the other hand, private hospitals would not have performed their duties well had health care facilities of the government functioned properly and dispensaries rendered efficient services and provided medical facility to poor people in villages.
Hence, it is a conspiracy of the state and wealthy people to keep dispensaries non-functional and give more opportunity to the people for medical treat ment in private hospitals than in government hospitals.
This is because economic interests of the administrators and capitalists are equal while keeping poor people on the hot frying pan.
Such indifferent traits of the society are being exposed gradually by COVID-19, the MAC said, adding that it would be impossible for the government to tackle COVID 19 pandemic if it continues to speak one word and do a totally different thing.
