A one-day workshop on export awareness, scope and opportunities from North East States of India was held at Hotel Classic today.
The workshop was organised by Federation of Indian Export Organisation under the sponsorship of Ministry of Commerce, Government of India.
Commerce and Industries Minister Y Erabot and Commerce and Industries Principal Secretary O Nabakishore were chief guest and president respectively in the opening function.
Speaking in the function, Minister Y Erabot said that the State is reaping benefits from Indo-Myanmar border trade, which was started in 1995 .
He added that new infrastructures have been constructed in the border town to promote trade.
Erabot said that the Government has enhanced connectivity and set up integrated check post.
The Minister said that a new bypass road is also in the offing.
He added that increase of trade items from 22 to 40 has given benefit to the State.
