After the tripartite Suspension of Operation pact signed between the Central Government, Manipur Government and Kuki armed groups, the State and Central Governments have sealed a tripartite Agreement of Understanding with KCP-MC (Lallumba group).
The tripartite Agreement of Understanding was signed at the Officers' Club of 1st Bn Manipur Rifles at 3 pm today.
While signing the pact, the Government of India was represented by Joint Secretary and North East in-Charge of the Ministry of Home Affairs Naveen Verma while IG (Intelligence) LM Khoute and Special Secretary (Home) NK Sinha represented the State Government.
The KCP-MC (Lallumba group) was represented by its Chairman, General Secretary and the Home Secretary.
It is reported that the Government is preparing a rehabilitation package to bring the group to the mainstream.
Saying that preparation of the rehabilitation package would be completed very soon, a source informed that verification of the exact strength of the group was underway.
