JLKL calls for communal harmony in Jiribam

The Jiri Louri Khongthang Lup (JLKL), Jiribam has expressed displeasure over the serious allegations leveled against the organization by speakers at a meeting held at Netaji High School under Barak Circle on August 25 .
JLKL publicity secretary N Ibungo in a press statement said that the organization has never made any statement so far to provoke any of the communities living in Jiribam subdivision of Imphal East, a Jiri News Network report said on Thursday.
A section of Assam based newspapers including Prantajyoti Dainik and Dainik Jugasankha recently published some inciting reports that Jiribam was part of Cachar, infomred the report.
Besides, the speakers at the public meeting organized by various civil society groups at Netaji High School made provocative remarks and leveled serious allegations against JLKL, he said.
JLKL said it wants peaceful co-existence of all communities and appealed to the Bengali and Bengali Muslim communities to restrain from making any kind of statement that can flare up communal tension in the area.
