Zeliangrong bodies seek PM's intervention on Naga integration

The Zeliangrong civil society organizations on Thursday observed 'Martyrs' Day' at Zeliangrong Baudi office at Glorylane, Tamenglong district headquarters.
A two-minute silence prayer was observed by the mammoth gathering led by ID Chunlubou, Joint Secretary Zeliagrong Baudi Manipur.
According to Khangkeng, an elder, on August 27, 1948 three Naga volunteers - Asiisii Hepuni, Mahriili Lorhrii and Modo Kholi were shot dead by Assam Rifles and Manipur State forces for starting a 'No tax campaign' in the Naga inhabited areas of Manipur.
The day was also observed by Nagas under United Naga Council, he said.
After observing the 'Martyrs's Day', the Zeliangrong civil society organizations forwarded a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India requesting him to expedite the process of integration of the Nagas at the earliest for the welfare and in the larger interest of the Naga People.
The memo was signed by ID Chunlubou, Jt Secretary Zeliangrong Baudi, Manipur; Agipou Pamei Chairman Zeliangrong Baudi, Tamenglong Zone; Marcus Kamson Vice President Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) and Ashinliu, President Zeliangrong Pui Baudi Manipur.
