Govt-aided school demolished without proper order

Imphal, October 13 2014:
In a setback to school education in the State, some portion of the building of government-aided Kiyamgei Ideal High School located at Kiyamgei Mayai Leikai in Imphal East was found demolished without any proper order from the authorities concerned.
According to reports culled from the spot, the rooms of Classes III to V were being demolished when the students and teachers turned up at the school this morning.
The walls of the rooms were found almost dismantled with all tin roofings removed.
Denouncing the act of demolishing the school building without any proper order, the students of Kiyamgei Ideal High School took out a mass rally at Kiyamgei area today.
Talking to media persons, Headmistress of Kiyam Ideal High School Y Tombisana said that the school is a public property and so the authorities concerned should provide proper demolition order before dismantling the school building.
The sudden demolition of the school building has caused severe inconvenience to over 400 students studying in the school.
The local MLA has also remained silent on this matter, she rued.
The Headmistress further appealed to State Education Minister to look into this matter and ensure the right to education to the students of the school at the earliest.
