More stringent night curfew to, be in force till July 20: CM

Maintaining that the Government would take up stringent preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the State, the Chief Minister said that night curfew would be clamped stringently with certain relaxations during day time.
The night curfew will be in force till July 20.The curfew imposed in Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul has been extended by another 10 days, ie, till July 20 with certain changes including imposition of night curfew from 7 pm to 5 am in the remaining districts, said an official notification issued later in the day.
Briefing media persons, the Chief Minister informed that no family members/attendants would be allowed to support or assist the patients who are undergoing medical treatment at Covid Care Centres (CCCs) and hospitals.
No family members would be required to provide meals for patients at hospitals/CCCs as meals would be provided by the Government, he added.
Seeking support and cooperation of the public in the fight against COVID-19, he appealed all to get vaccinated against the dreaded disease.
Advisor to CM (Health), Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh, Principal Secretary (Health) V Vumlunmang, DC Imphal West Th Kirankumar, Director (MAHUD) Th Harikumar, Chief Medical Officer, Imphal West, officials of Health Department accompanied the CM.
It may be noted that the District Administration, Imphal West and Chief Medical Officer, Imphal West are conducting a two-day-mass vaccination camp for Ima market vendors, starting today.
Later, the Chief Minister also inspected the mass vaccination drive being conducted at Ibemcha High School, Khabam and Mongjam Community Hall, Imphal East.
On the other hand, an office memorandum issued by State Executive Committee Chairman and Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar said that authorised service centres for computers and mobile phones are now allowed to open from 10 am to 2 pm on the days when grocery shops are closed, while further opening up will depend on the Covid scenario and the progress in vaccination.
The district administrations have also been advised to ensure spots for vendors are clearly marked and complied.
Vegetable vendors and grocery shops will open as per earlier arrangement on July 12, 15 and 18 from 7 am to 10 am, the notification read.
Mentioning that the High Court may decide its activities based on measures taken up by the Government as deemed appropriate, Dr Rajesh Kumar directed the Deputy Commissioners and SPs concerned to implement the order strictly.
