The Oriental College Alumni Association has condemned the Education Department of the State on its failure to fulfill the demands made by the All Manipur Government College Teachers' Association while expressing regret over the forced conduct of college exams instead of providing an amicable solution on the present demand of these teachers.
In a press statement issued on December 11, by the Association, the President stated that if the Department still turns a deaf ear on the realization of the needs of the teachers before its deadline on December 17, the Assn is determined to carry out all necessary forms of agitation starting the following day.
In the meantime, while supporting the issue of the teachers, the President had observed that apart from the list of the demands of AMGOCTA, the Government must also take up necessary measures to sustain the autonomous nature of the Oriental College and also to bring out an immediate official order to relocate the In-Charge Regular Principal of the College in his position, added the release.
