Imphal, November 22 2018:
Retired IAS AR Khan has strongly reacted to an alleged statement made by Kshetrigao BJP Mandal executive members, including Hijam Chaoba who claimed to be the vice president of the mandal, that he (AR Khan) was suspended before he tendered his resignation.
Saying that the claim of the Kshetrigao BJP Mandal is "blatant lie" he alleged that the statement of the mandal has "undermined" the principle of the party itself.
Addressing a press meet held today at his residence at Kshetri Bengoon Mayai Leikai, Imphal East, AR Khan questioned the validity of the mandal's claim and asked, "The BJP executive members claim that I was suspended from BJP in February 22, 2017 when in fact I had attended the BJP's State Executive Committee meeting which was held from April 24 to 25...the same year (2017).How was I able to attend the executive meeting if I were ever suspended?" He said that he attended the meeting only after he received invitation from the authorities concerned and further claimed that he and Moirang AC MLA P Saratchandra Singh were asked to second/move the resolutions drafted during the said meeting in April, 2017.Maintaining that his signature for attending the meeting is still there, if not tempered with, in the register where the delegates put their signatures, AR Khan also stated that the organization secretary of the North East Ajay Jamwal must have the knowledge of his presence at the meeting.
