AR, POLICE raise funds

Imphal, November 16 2015:
12 BIHAR of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) showed their unique gesture and concern towards the sports culture of Manipur by taking initiative of raising funds for Moirangthem Albert Singh, S/o Vijay Kumar, resident of Saballekai, Nambol who will be participating in 2nd International Taikwando Competition to be held at Mumbai from 30th Nov 2015.This is not the first time Assam Rifles has taken initiative for mitigating and helping the young talents in the field of sports.
It was in early this year that 12 BIHAR organised a sports camp in Mayang Imphal for kids under 15 through which one young Manipuri boy was selected for ASI (Army Sports Institute), Pune.
Yet, again 12 BIHAR organised a fund raising function "Together for Sports" at Saballekai Community Hall, Nambol.
Commanding Officer, 12 BIHAR along with Company Commander, Nambol Post, DSP Bishnupur, Officers from Nambol Police Station and Bishnupur Commandos came together for the noble cause.
The program commenced with the welcome address and arrival of the Chief Guest, Commanding Officer 12 BIHAR.
Moirangthem Albert Singh and his fellow athletes then showed their Martial Arts skills.
Commanding Officer, 12 BIHAR spoke few encouraging words and sponsored Moirangthem Albert Singh for his entry fees and kitting after which DSP Bishnupur motivated young talents by his speech.
The function ended with the Army Officers and Police Officers handing over their funds followed by the villagers who put their contribution in the Fund Raising Box.
Commanding Officer, 12 BIHAR had personal interaction with the family of the young emerging talent and the function came to end with his interaction with the Police Officers.
The villagers and the family of Moirangthem Albert Singh were very grateful towards Army/Assam Rifles and Police Force for the kind gesture and concern and appreciated the efforts taken by the Security Forces.
