Parents' pressure stresses out children: Commissioner

Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) in association with National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), GoI and State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT), Manipur organised a State level orientation cum sensitization programme on 'Issue of stress in students due to exam' at the multipurpose hall of SCERT, Lamphel today.
Speaking as the chief guest of the programme, Commissioner of School Education T Ranjit maintained that students are stressed or nervous during exams while the pressure that the parents impose on them to become engineers or doctors often make the children more tensed.
He advised that children should be allowed to eat and rest properly before the exam to calm their mind and body so that they can perform well in their exam.
Chairperson, Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights Sumatibala Ningthoujam attended the function as the president while Director, State Council of Educational Research & Training (SCERT) Manipur Dr M Meenakumari and Assistant Commissioner, JNV Samiti Shillong Region Ningthoujam Dhiren attended the programme as guests of honour.
