MHRC meets DGP, high ranking officials

Acting Chairperson of Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) Khaidem Mani has conveyed that an inspection drive was conducted at Manipur Police Headquarter which was followed by an interaction session.
Speaking to media persons at MHRC office in Lamphal today, Khaidem Mani said that a team of officials including him visited the DGP office, Manipur Police HQs yesterday and interacted with the DGP and other high ranking police officers.
During the interaction MHRC expressed the need of establishing an investigation wing, and a law and order wing to ease the investigation process of different cases while the DGP assured to fulfil the needful at the earliest, Mani said.
He went on to state that MHRC also suggested to open up a Human Rights Cell in all the 16 districts of the State.
