CM sees off Haj pilgrims

Imphal, July 23 2019:
Chief Minister N Biren Singh saw off the first batch of Haj pilgrims at Imphal Airport today.
In all, 458 people including 223 women have been selected for Haj pilgrimage from the State under Manipur State Haj Committee this year.
In the first batch today, 192 pilgrims led by Manipur State Haj Committee (MSHC) chairperson Moulana Abdus Salam and Khadim-ul-Hujjaj Mohammed Rashid Ali left for Kolkata in different flights for their onward journey to the holy city of Mecca.
The second batch of pilgrims numbering 266 will leave for Kolkata tomorrow.
All of them will stay at Madinat-ul-Hujjaj (Haj House), Kolkata before they leave for Mecca in two flights on July 26 .
N Biren wished the pilgrims a happy and safe journey.
He also requested them to pray for peace, prosperity, harmony and tranquillity in Manipur.
The pilgrims also thanked the Chief Minister for his greetings and also for coming to the airport to see them off.
It may be mentioned that Moulana Abdus Salam has been selected as the Coordinator of Khadim cum Cleric by the Haj Committee of India.
Manipur State Minority Commission Chairperson Md.Anwar Hussain, Director (Minority Affairs) Ng Uttam, Imphal Airport Director S Senthil Valavan and Members of Manipur State Haj Committee were also present at the occasion.
