Curfew relaxed from 5 am to 6 pm

A meeting of Administrative Secretaries and top police officials held yesterday with Chief Secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar in the chair reviewed the several measures being implemented to check the spread of COVID-19 in the State.
The meeting has decided to reduce the curfew hours to 11 hours (6 pm to 5 am) and opening hours of shops and establishments have been increased to 10 hours (7 am to 5 pm).
Inter/intra-district movement outside curfew hours has been allowed freely.
Workshops, manufacturing and processing units are also allowed to operate.
However, as for movement at Indo-Myanmar border, a decision will be taken after the Police Department submits an SOP for implementation.
The meeting while observing that the number of inmates presently in quarantine centres needs to be reduced as immediate testing on arrival has been allowed, the Administrative Secretaries, in-charge of districts have been directed to review the situation with the Deputy Commissioners and advise accordingly.
The meeting also observed that the number of reports submitted by the DCs in formats needs to be reduced to only essential ones and reports relating to "Support provided to stranded migrant population and other needy persons" should be submitted by the DCs only.
As the MoHRD has advised to complete the final term examinations of universities/institutions by September 30, the Higher & Technical Education has been directed to take necessary steps to vacate the colleges/institutions being utilized as quarantine centres so as to make them available for the examinations.
The CAF&PD has been directed to regularly monitor lifting and distribution of the NFSA and PMGKAY rice to the beneficiaries.
OMSS rice should also be made available on payment to non-NFSA card holders.
IMC has been directed to take necessary steps to sanitize the quarantine centres, offices, hospitals etc regularly.
