'89th Martyrdom Anniversary of Haipou Jadonang' observed via zoom

The Zeliangrong Students' Union Delhi (ZSUD) and Zeliangrong Welfare Association, Delhi (ZWAD) organized and observed the "89th Martyrdom Anniversary of Haipou Jadonang" via zoom, on the theme "The vision of Haipou Jadonang and its relevance in the contemporary Zeliangrong society".
The function started with an opening remark by gen secy of Naga Students' Union, Delhi, Isaac Charenamai, lighting of lamp by ZWAD president Benjamin Pamei followed by mass singing of Zeliangrong anthem.
Som Kamei, author of "Jadonang-The Mystic Naga Rebel", spoke at length on the philosophy and nature of the socio, religious, cultural and political movement of Haipou Jadonang.
He also encouraged the Luangdimai/Zeliangrong people to emulate the methods of Haipou Jadonang based on truth and integrity.A song composed by KC Namgui was presented live from Pune by the composer, while Dr Achingliu Kamei, Assistant Professor, DU, delivered a speech on the theme of the programme.
A song composed by Haipou Jadonang himself was also presented to the audience.
Joining the webinar from Oxford, UK, Dr Vibha Joshi shared her personal experiences and meeting with Rani Gaidinliu in the late 80s and shared images and artifacts of Haipou Jadonang and Rani Gaidinliu, found in the Pitts Rivers Museum, Oxford, UK.
Many people from different parts of the world participated in the programme.
Vice president of ZWAD, Gideon Kamei delivered the vote of thanks.
