National Health Authority (NHA) CEO lauds State

National Health Authority (NHA) Chief Executive Officer Dr Indu Bhushan has declared Manipur as the leading State in the entire North East region in terms of effective implementation of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY).
He stated this while speaking at the launching function of Intensive IEC Campaign on AB-PMJAY and Chief Ministergi Hakshel-gi Tengbang (CMHT) at RIMS complex today.
The CEO further conveyed that so far altogether 3000 Ayushman Bharat cards have been distributed to the deserving beneficiaries in the State.
A total amount of Rs 4.8 crore has also been spent in providing medical assistance to the beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat scheme in the State, he added.
Indu Bhushan asserted that Manipur is also one of the leading States in the whole country in the effective implementation of the scheme.
While observing that the success of implementing Ayushman Bharat scheme will depend on the effectiveness of reaching out to the deserving beneficiaries, he asked the authorities concerned in the State to take the scheme to the poorest of the poor.
Indu Bushan formally launched the Intensive IEC campaign on AB-PMJAY and Chief Ministergi Hakshel-gi Tengbang (CMHT) by unveiling a bus which will be used in generating awareness among the public about the said schemes.
Many high ranking officials, including RIMS Director Professor A Santa also took part in the launching function.
Mention may be made that Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched AB-PMJAY as the world's largest National health scheme on September 23,2018 while the CMHT was launched by Chief Minister N Biren as a State health scheme in the State.
Under AB-PMJAY, a beneficiary can get medical assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh per year, whereas the beneficiaries of CMHT can get medical assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh.
