Health policy in line : Tonsing

The State will frame its health care policy soon, assured Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing today.
The Minister was speaking at a reception ceremony hosted in his honour by the Directorate of Health Services at Kangla Hall.
Highlighting the needs to have proper health care policy in order to provide health care to all, Phungzathang said the health sector is one of the priorities given by the State Government.
In order to provide adequate health care system to the public, sincerity on the part of the medical practitioners is an important element apart from the Government's initiatives, he said.
Articulating the faith patients have in doctors and nurses, the Minister exhorted the medical pratitioners to serve them with commitment towards their well-being while adding that timely treatment can save many precious lives.
He further urged the doctors to render services worth their salt.
The Health Minister said he would inspect all district hospitals and submit a report to the Government.
The programme was attended byCommissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Moses Chalai and Director of Health Services, Dr Sh Surchandra.
