Gaikhangam calls upon CDOs to act humanly during CI Ops

Home Minister Gaikha-ngam today appealed to the state police commandos to act humanly during any counter insurgency operations carried out in any part of the state.
He was speaking during an inspection visit at Commando Complex at Minuthong here today.
Home Minister Gaikhangam further stated that 'we should never forget that we are after all dealing with human beings and at the same time we should remember that we are all human beings' .
He also noted that the present Commando Complex at Minuthong is very congested and outdated.
As such, a new complex for the Manipur Police Commandos would be constructed at Lamphel.
For this 100 acres land has been reserved.
The Home Minister observed that the role of Police Commandos in the state is very important, and so they should be well disciplined, follow the ethics of their uniform and perform their duties efficiently.

Expressing regret over cases of unwanted incidents happening among the commandos, the Home Minister maintained that all these unwanted incidents have come up as they were not properly taught the right discipline during training period.
Instructing the top police officials to impart basic discipline to the commandos during their training, the Home Minister further appealed to the commandos to always maintain discipline as it is the key to their success.
"Manipur police Commandos are known nationwide and are respected by all.
We should further improve the quality of the Manipur Police Commandos and their will power to fight insurgency problems in the state", he exhorted.
The Home Minister went on to say that the Manipur Police commandos should never run away from the truth.
If something wrong was committed, Commandos should be brave enough to admit the mistake.
They should also try to maintain a good relation with the public.
During his visit to the Commando Complex, the Home Minister also inspected the condition of the Central Motor Transport (CMT) office, barracks, kitchen, drainage system, fencings and gate and assured to construct a new gate, community hall and repair the fencings and the CMT office building.
The Home Minster was accompanied by Principal Secrertary (Home) Dr Suresh Babu, DGP Ratnakar Baral; ADGP LS Khoute, DIG L Kailun, SP Imphal West Jayenta and other officials during the inspection visit.
