Imphal, August 07 2014:
With the tenure of the incumbent of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Gaikhangam expiring shortly, Congress Working Committee (CWC) permanent invitee and Manipur in-charge Luizinho Falerio would arrive here on August 11 to look into the party's organisational matter.
The issue of Ministry reshuffle with the exception of the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister as demanded by scores of MLAs may be discussed during Luizinho Falerio's Imphal trip, informed a source.
The tenure of MPCC pre-sident was extended from three to five years and Ga-ikhangam's term expired in 2013 but it was extended till date.
To look into the MPCC presidential election which is likely to be held in the early part of 2015 and other organisation matters, Luizinho Falerio would land at Imphal on August 11 .
He would hold meetings with Chief Minister O Ibobi and MPCC president Gaikhangam and other party leaders.
With Gaikhangam already indicating his intention to give up the post of MPCC president, internal consultations have already started on who would succeed him.
Luizinho Falerio may also discuss about the demand for complete reshuffle of the incumbent Ministry and its likely impacts on the party's organisation structure.
Even as the Chief Minister assured about effecting Ministry reshuffle after the last Assembly session, the same is being kept in abeyance per-haps because of the many pressing political issues besieging the State.
One MLA who was among the signatories demanding Ministry reshuffle maintained that Cabinet reshuffle may be delayed further because of the strong mass movement for enforcement of ILPS in the State.
Another MLA said that they would until August 15 .
Even if the Ministry is reshuffled, it would be limited to just 4/5 Ministers as all the Ministers cannot be replaced at a time, informed another source.
