With the annual Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival approaching fast, repairing work is going on along Airport road and the road leading to Hapta Kangjeibung.
The road leading to Hapta Kangjeibung and other roads in the area are being repaired on a war-footing with a view to keep them in tip-top condition ahead of the festival which opens on November 21, informed Works Minister Dr Ratankumar while talking to some media persons yesterday.
In addition, the airport road is also being repaired ahead of the scheduled landing of Golden Myanmar's aircraft at Tulihal Airport on November 21, the opening of the Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival which would put Imphal airport on the international aviation map.

In the meantime, beautification work of the airport complex is being carried out under the aegis of the Civil Aviation Ministry.
Moreover, beautification works would also be done at all the three Ima Markets of Khwairamband Keithel so that they can impress tourists, informed Dr Ratankumar.
One official said that tourists may face a problem of unavailability of hotel rooms once international flights start operation to/from Imphal airport.
Power supply is another factor which the Government has to deal with.
