All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) will felicitate its members and makers of AFSPA, 1958 which won two International awards at the recent Mumbai International Film festival (MIFF) during a function to be held on March 5 at JN Manipur Dance Academy.
The film depicting the public outcry against the custodial killing of Th Manorama and subsequently demand for revocation of the draconian Act won the International FIPPRESCI Critics Jury Award for its strong cinematic narrative and sincere presentation and International Jury Award for the illuminating portrait of a community under siege and its struggle for justice in the Documentary, Short and Animation film section of the competition.
The film was directed Haobam Pawan Kumar and produced by Sanzu.
Chairman of Manipur Human Rights Commission WA Shishak would be chief guest of the function which would also be graced by noted film maker Aribam Shyam Sharma and noted theatre personality Arambam Lokendra as guests of honour.
Besides, putting on sale a limited DVD copies of the widely acclaimed film, the same would also be screened in the afternoon of the same day at Usha Cinema, Paona Bazar.
