Imphal, December 20 2009:
Manipur Tourism Festival 2009 organised by Tourism Dept under the aegis of the State Government concluded today at Hapta Kangjeibung.
The festival opened since December 10 drew maximum crowds today.
There was traffic jam and chaos in Palace Compound and nearby roads.
At one point, police even resorted to baton charging in order to establish traffic order.

Speaking as chief guest at the closing function, Tourism Commissioner BB Sharma said that plans are afoot to develop natural tourist spots located in different corners of the State as a part of the initiative launched by the Ministry of Tourism to develop tourism sector in the country.
He also called upon all sections to cooperate in the efforts to develop tourism sector in the State which is endowed by nature with a vast potential in the same sector.
The picture of tourism sector in Manipur has undergone positive changes in the last few years.
