Imphal, June 13:
The Naga Students Federation (NSF) has today appealed to all the people for deeper and critical understanding of the Naga political issue and paves way for a lasting settlement, supporting each others struggle.
In a statement the NSF asked Indian Government to stop manufacturing lies to destabilize the unity of the Nagas and also the healthy relationship between the Nagas and her neighbours.
It sad that Nagas have been independent and its geographical divisions under India and Burma and four Indian States of Nagaland, Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh were done arbitrarily without any consultation with the Nagas.
Aspiration of the Nagas is to live as peoples under one political umbrella.
The statement described as unfortunate the press statement issued by AMUCO and Chief Minister of Assam, Tarun Gogoi opposing the cease-fire to Manipur.
Irrespective of the outcome of the talks the Meiteis, Assamese, Kukis, Nagas, Mizos, Bodos, Kacharis, Dimasas, karbis etc.
all will have to live together.
As such one has to facilitate and try to solve the problem so as to usher in peace and harmony, it said.
Stating that people of the North Eastern region are lagging behind in many fields due to struggle for identity it said that the people should make concerted efforts to bring about a lasting and just solution to the region by contributing positively.
Nagas have been suffering and struggling for more than five decades.
Its collective struggle of the Nagas inhabiting their ancestral lands does not confine to a particular geographical domain.
When the opportunity to solve the Indo-Naga conflict comes Nagas expect their brothers and sisters of the region to give utmost support, it said.
