Imphal, November 06 2016:
BJP is one party which is known for being hypercritical about the affairs of other political parties while conveniently overlooking all their flaws and weaknesses.
This was stated by MPCC president TN Haokip while addressing a one day political conference held at YLL Ground, Pishumthong Ningom Leirak today.
Among others, the political conference organised by Keishamthong Block Congress Committee (KBCC) was attended by MPCC president TN Haokip, Nambol AC MLA N Loken, Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo, KBCC president S Ibochou and former Minister L Jayantakumar who has been preparing to contest the forthcoming State Assembly election on a Congress ticket from Keishamthong AC.
TN Haokip asserted all the malicious propaganda floated by BJP against Congress party are aimed at covering up their wrongdoings.
He stated that he was taken by surprise when Union Minister of State (YAS) Vijay Goel remarked that Yaithibi Loukon is a low-lying area and it was not suitable for establishment of National Sports University after an expert committee sent by the Central Government had already approved Yaithibi Loukon for setting up the university.
"Manipur, being a powerhouse of sports in the country, deserves a National Sports University.
It should be set up at a suitable place within the State but we would not like the university to be shifted to any other State", TN Haokip stated.
BJP's propaganda that Congress party's popularity has declined in the State is only a figment of imagination.
Congress party's position is still intact.
People would not simply take in all the fabricated propaganda of BJP for people are fully aware of what kind of party BJP is.
Imphal-Jiribam highway has been literally abandoned to its own fate since BJP came to power at the Centre.
Yet, they have been making tall claims that the highway would be developed soon.
It only proves that BJP is good at rhetoric only, asserted the MPCC president.
People know about the numerous development programmes taken up by the Congress Government and the party still enjoys massive public support.
L Jayantakumar remarked how and where the MLA Local Area Development Fund of Keishamthong AC was utilized is highly questionable.
The existing condition of roads and other transport infrastructure testified that huge amounts of public money have been swindled.
People need to investigate how and where the MLA Local Area Development Fund of Rs 6.5 crore was utilized.
All the Union Ministers who visited Manipur went back after lashing the Congress Government without ever asking about the welfare of the State.
They did nothing for the benefit of the people of Manipur, Jayantakumar remarked.
MLA N Loken claimed that BJP has little supporters in the State although they have been projecting themselves as a formidable contender by utilizing all forms of mass media.
People need to question the political alliance forged between BJP and NPF whose primary objective is disintegration of Manipur.
If they (BJP) are committed to the State's integrity, they should not be going together with NPF, Hemochandra asserted.
He claimed that no political party other than Congress is suitable to the soil of Manipur.
RK Imo maintained that BJP would not be able to present itself as a formidable political party in Manipur although it is in power at the Centre.
BJP's dream of forming Government in the State would remain a pipe dream as long as there is Congress party in the State.
BJP would face a serious crisis as and when party tickets are announced ahead of the State Assembly election and it would ultimately lead to fragmentation of the party, Imo predicted.
A large number of Congress supporters attended the meeting.
