Imphal, November 06 2016:
The United Meetei and Pangal Organisation (UMAPO) has strongly condemned today the crackdown on a protest rally against the setting up of the National Sports University at Yaithibi Loukon that resulted to the injury of 22 persons.
In a statement, the organisation accused the CM of failing to resolve the issue of setting up the sports' university at Yaithibi Loukon despite the site being disapproved by the Union Minister of Youth & Sports.
Demanding to take up befitting actions against the erring police personnel and compensation to the injured persons, the organisation warned the State Government of snowballing out of the incident.
