With an eye on Rio Olympics CM looks to foreign coaches

Chief Minister O Ibobi today said that foreign coaches would be engaged for selected sportspersons from some disciplines as a measure to train State sportspersons ahead of the coming Olympics.
The Chief Minister was speaking while inaugurating the Multipurpose Indoor Hall at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.
He further said that foreign coaches would be engaged for potential medallists of the State in the Olympic as well as other International sporting events.
Addressing the gathering, Parliamentary Secretary of YAS, M Prithiviraj said the construction work of the Multipurpose Indoor Hall started in 2004 with monetary sanction of Rs 3.8 crore from the NEC.
Construction of the Hall is completed with additional sanction of Rs 3 crore from the 13th Finance Commission.

Prithiviraj also urged all concerned to show hospitality with all sportsmanship to participants of the North East Games which is to be hosted by the State from April 8 to 11.Commissioner of YAS, Dr RK Nimai; Director of YAS, N Ashokumar and Project Director of MDS, Y Ningthem also attended the inaugural function of the Multipurpose Indoor Hall.
