Imphal, April 05 2013 :
In another instance of poor service, India Post has delivered a parcel of three Pasmina shawls and two jeans pants as a pack of trash of gravels and paper and wood pieces.
The cloth parcel was sent from Uttar Pradesh by Moirangthem Roni on March 15 to his elder sister residing at Ningthoukong Awang Khunou Ward No 14 .
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club today, Roni's father Radheshyam said, the parcel reached Imphal Head Post Office on March 19 and the same was handed over to him by Bishnupur Post Office on April 2 .
Surprisingly, the parcel however turned out to be a pack of gravels and pieces of papers and wood.
The matter was immediately complained at Bishnupur Post Office.
However, Post Office staff said that it was not their responsibility and suggested Radheshyam to complain the matter at Imphal Head Post Office.
At Imphal Post Office, the Managing Director allegedly told Radheshyam that India Post would not be able to refund the cost of the lost items.
However, he was ready to refund the charge of the post, Radheshyam said.
Peeved with the response of the Managing Director, Radheshyam has now decided to complain the matter to the higher authority of India Post so that the culprits are penalised.
Radheshyam also urged the Manipur Police Department to do the needful in this regard.
