Consultation after Bill is fully prepared: Dy CM

Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam has stated that the Government consulted senior lawyers of the Supreme Court and the process of drafting a new Bill in place of the Protection of Manipur Peoples (PMP) Bill 2015 is nearing completion.
Talking to reporters at his office chamber today, Gaikhangam said that ahead of the monsoon session of the Manipur State Assembly which would be held in the last part of the current month, another meeting of all political parties would be held to discuss the new draft Bill.
He further informed that the Chief Minister convened a meeting of his Council of Ministers this evening to discuss the draft Bill.
It is reported that the Council of Ministers would hold another meeting tomorrow and deliberate on the same Bill.
Through unofficial channel, the State Government has been working to come to an understanding with the Churachandpur JAC.
All necessary measures would be initiated to bring a consensus of all stake holders on the new draft Bill, Gaikhangam asserted.
