3-day fish farmer training held

Imphal, August 01 2016:
The District Fishery Officer, Chandel,
under the initiative of the Directorate of Fishery, Government of
Manipur and National Fisheries Development Board, Hyderabad
conducted a 3-day fish farmer's training and demonstration pro-
gramme on agriculture from July 28 to 30 at the District Level
Fishery Training Hall, Kapaam (Komlathabi), Chandel District.
Thirty fish farmers were taught the importance of fisheries,
pond management practices, composite fish farming methods,
integrated fish farming practices, breeding /induced breeding
of fishes, fish diseases and their control measures, importance
of indigenous fishes and their culture, water quality manage-
ment in fish pond etc at the training programme.
The opening function of the training programme was graced
by Sh Manglem Monshang MDC, ADC, Chandel, K
Jenishing Tarao, DFO Chandel and K Jinda Shing, Chief of
Kapaam (Komlathabi) village as chief guest, president and
guest of honour respectively.
The training program concluded on July 30 with distribution of certificates to the trainees by the District Fishery Officer, Chandel.
