Mild tremor hit Manipur

Imphal, November 21 2011:
An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 was triggered at upper part of the Chindwin River of Myanmar shaking the entire state today.
According to the Seismological Observatory, Department of Earth Sciences, Manipur University the earthquake struck at 08 hr 45 min 43.4 sec (IST) and its epicenter was estimated as 25.401oN / 95.014oE.The felt duration of the event was about 14 seconds.
The epicentral distance is about 132 km from Imphal.
The quake was felt in various parts of NE states including Assam, Manipur and Nagaland.
However, there's no report of any casualty or damage so far."We felt the tremor but there's no sign of any panic among the people here",says a shop keeper in Imphal.
Residents of Moreh at the Indo-Myanmar border were not aware of the tremor as they were busy with their business.
"Unlike the past, I feel it was a strong quake that took more than a minute", P Renta, a resident in Nagaland's Dimapur town said.
"But there's no report of any damage" .
