Workshop on 'exploitations of women and child' organised

Imphal, November 21 2011:
A one-day workshop on "Manipur in the present scenario related to several exploitations of women and child" was organised at Keishampat Shanglen here on Monday.
The workshop was organised by the Holistic development organization (HDO) .
Speaking on the occasion, Health Minister L Jayentakumar said women and mothers role is very important in bringing peace in the society.
He also opined that there was no good education in the Manipuri society before some 20 years, and the result is that the present day has been facing the worst kind of law and order in the State.
Manipur needs good mothers to produce healthy and good children.
S the government has been implementing various schemes and program.mme but it is unfortunate that so far it has not been succeed.
Noting that in India, there is no separate department for men, he said the country has women and child department.
HDO Secretary, S Prakash who was also speaking at the workshop said the number of children living with HIV/AIDS are alarmingly increasing in the State due to armed conflict situation.
Children living under below poverty line are often misled by miscreants in the state by giving false promises to provide them free education in other states.
But, these people are indulging in human trafficking and many minor children were found using as labourers, he added.
